The building in which this museum is located is the so-called "Marmar" palace, which is one of the first Pahlavi palaces. The extensive use of high-quality green marble has led to the name of the Marble Palace being applied to it.

The magnificent dome of this building, which is a replica of the Safavid dome of "Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque" in Isfahan, along with arrays of beautiful mosaic tiles, skillful sculptures, masterful plastering, balanced and extensive paintings on plaster, elaborate inlays and unique to this building, and exquisite mirror work of this building. They have made a special architectural work.

The efforts of architects and artists of the late Qajar and first Pahlavi periods in reviving the national arts of Iran and combining them with architecture and arrays related to non-Iranian architecture have given a unique look to the interior and exterior spaces of this building. This TV was created by famous architects such as "Master Hossein Lorzadeh", "Master Haider Siah", "Leon Tadosian", "Boris" and master "Haj Akbar Kachar" and master artists such as "Master Hossein Kashi Tarash Isfahani", "Mohammed Hossein Sani". Khatam", "Hossein Abdul Baghi Kashani" and "Master Hossein Taherzadeh Behzad" were drawn.

The Marble Palace was registered in the list of national works of Iran on June 30, 1357 with number 1606. This palace, which was used as a residence for the Pahlavi family and as an office between 1313 and 1317 A.H. was built, after the revolution it was given to the revolutionary institutions as an office.

In the last years of the 1990s, with the foresight of the Foundation of the Underprivileged of the Islamic Revolution, it was given to Dafineh Museums Group, and after specialized restoration and restoration of the building in March 2018, this work was revived by granting the use of the museum.

With the establishment of "Museum of Iranian Art", the only specialized museum of Iranian art was formed. Different parts of the museum are named as "Halls":

"Hall of Ancient Art", "Hall of Ancient Art One", "Hall of Ancient Art Two", "Hall of Iranian Islamic Art", "Hall of Naqsh", "Hall of Color", "Hall of Mirror", "Hall of Trench", "Hall of Khatam" ", "Book Hall", "Sanat Hall", "Noor Hall" and "Ngarin Hall" offer visual and at the same time very attractive and audible narration of Iranian culture and art to every visitor.
